SEN. MCCAIN HAS THE DELEGATES –-
NOW HEALTH CARE VOTERS CALL ON HIM
TO FILL IN THE GAPS
In Exeter, NH Health Care Voters urged Sen. McCain to come up with a real plan to make quality health care affordable for all Americans
As Senator John McCain returned to New Hampshire for the first time since clinching the Republican presidential nomination, Health Care Voters greeted him at his Exeter “Thank You” Town Hall to congratulate him and continued to pressure him to fill in the many gaps in his health care proposal.
In his nomination acceptance speech on March 4th, Sen. McCain said: “I will campaign to make health care more accessible to more Americans with reforms that will bring down costs in the health care industry without ruining the quality of the world’s best medical care.”
But for the over 75,000 Health Care Voters here in New Hampshire, “more” isn’t enough – we need a president who will ensure every American has access to quality, affordable health care. Currently, over 47 million Americans do not have health care coverage, including 150,000 New Hampshire residents.

Fed says Health Care Spending to Increase
Residents of the U.S. vote with many issues in mind, but the issues that historically take precedence are those that affect the pocketbook. This is evident within the issue of health care reform, as health care costs continue to increase by leaps and bounds every year, the cry for comprehensive reform gets louder and louder.
The Federal Government announced Monday that at the rate we are going, the United States will be spending over $4 trillion a year on health care by 2017. That would mean one out of every five dollars that is spent in this country would be going toward health care.
Americans for Health Care and its 500,000 Health Care Voters have been pushing for change in our health care system since 2002, saying that “the longer we wait, the worse it is going to get.” Well, as you can see, we won’t be able to afford to wait much longer.
2008 will be a defining year for health care reform across the country. Not only are we facing progressive reforms in some states, but we will be faced with the opportunity to elect a health care friendly President and Congress who can tackle this crisis from the Federal level. Please stay with us in this fight, and let’s win quality, affordable health care for everyone!
